My friend Gretchen
Gretchen with a group of the kids at the Blue Kangaroo Book store where she was working
Miss Gretchen with Paige and Peyton

The 1st and 2nd graders worked hard to memorize a scripture response to questions about faith in God. This past Sunday, they shared it in my Berean Sunday school class. We were blessed and impressed by their hard work, so they were invited to do it again in church. Peyton and Paige both are part of this class. Many thanks to Miss Gretchen for all her hard work with the kids. She and her husband Josh left today for Louisville, KY so that Josh can go to seminary. This is a huge loss for us, but we send them out with prayer for them and what God will do through them. Thanks Gret, we love you! Sandy, thanks so much for posting these pics and the video. I am thrilled that we just got a new laptop (thanks to God's provision through Josh's dad) but it is pretty stripped down and I am unable to watch the video yet! But it will stay up for a while, won't it?

I noticed the girls had some awesome new shoes! Those shocks are so cool! Tell the girls I want some!

You would love the workout facilities here. I have only walked past them, but there is a huge pool and nice weight room/excercise equipment. Josh and I have free access, and we can bring guests, too. So you'll have to come visit! Miss you! Thanks for being a pal!

That video is awesome! It was truly awesome to hear/see them do that. That's something that will stay with them forever. What great truth! I was soooo proud of them!

I hope I have the opportunity to meet Josh and Gretchen after all of the great things you have said about them here. My church is pretty heavily involved with the seminary Josh is attending, so who knows?

bookpress,
I know that you would like Josh and Gretchen. If you saw her blog, you saw that she is an avid reader! Not quite as much of a book snob as you though!

Sandy, I am relooking over this post and feeling tearful yet laughing at the picture of the girls and I on New Years' eve. Who would have guessed we'd all be horridly ill within a couple of days? Ha ha! Tonight at church I saw a bunch of kids, and I was all wistful, wishing I knew them. And a lady was holding the curriculum (not sure if they used it tonight or if it was for Sunday) and it was "He Has Established a Testimony" I think, which is curriculum I have used in Children's church. I was wishing I was holding the curriculum to use this Sunday. WAH! Really, I am doing okay.

Who is this "bookpress"? That blog is HARDCORE on books! I will have to investigate it further.
