Batter up....

Brad, Paige and Peyton taking a little batting
practice. Peyton was a good "outsider" as she called it!
The girls finished their school work and daddy was
working in the yard, so they took a break for fun when
Granny and Grandad came to visit.

Peyton is either "outsiding" (outfielding)
or she is practicing being a sportswear model

Brad gives Paige some pointers. I have a short video
of the results that I will try to get posted later

Great swing Paige. Should I be offended that
he is trying to teach them not to throw and swing like
"a girl"??

Peace and grace...

Sorry no cute kid pictures today. It isn't that they aren't still adorable, I just haven't had a Kodak moments this past week that I would care to memorialize. I have learned much about God this week. I have learned that as long as I have Him in my corner, he will equip me to deal with any blow life brings. God has blessed our family this past week with many godly and loving people who reached out to us in dealing with some of life's more difficult challenges. I have been the recipient of more grace than I ever thought existed and I can only thank God for his unfailing love. He never changes, He is always perfect and just. My friend Charity (you know, the crazy one that lives in SC) has been challenging me to give one thing that I know is true of God whenever I start to grow weary in faith. Today, when I take that challenge that I give to myself in this early morning hour, is that God is truly wonderful. He is the Wonderful Counselor and the Prince of Peace. Today on the automatic Bible verse display that comes up with a new verse each day on my blog, was a perfect verse to start my day. You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Is 26:3. I am learning that peace doesn't mean that life's circumstances are particulary peaceful, but God can give this "perfect peace" to us. I picture this to be a place without wind and rain right in the midst of a hurricane. I have found this verse to be an awesome promise as I read it because it was truth in my life this past week, and will continue to be truth. Yes I was weary and tired, but it was only when I slipped my eyes off God and gave in to temptation to think of things that were not true, pure or lovely that I allowed myself to feel hopeless.
Ok, enough said. Hopefully soon I will return to posting some happy cute pictures of my family.

Old friends are still gold...

For those of you who follow Charity's blog, the Old friends are gold comment dates back to an entry in which she talked about her new and old friends. Well, Charity was here for a visit and we got our families together for a cookout. This party entailed 7 kids ranging in ages from 8 on down to 1 and 8 adults (no age range necessary, but all are now in the 30 somethings.) It was a fun night, and we ate way too much (thanks Mr. Lathrop for the sweet corn!)
