the day in Springfield

Paige and Peyton and I accompanied James on his trip to visit his grandmother at her home in Springfield today. He goes twice a year to do jobs that she needs done inside and outside of her house. Grandma Snyder has a beautiful covered back deck, which the girls and I fell in love with, even when the rain came. The girls and I visited Lincoln's house and took part in the tour, and then we headed back to the house to hang out on the deck. Here are a few pictures of our late afternoon outside, despite the rain.

So glad my favorite girls called me last night. Also glad you enjoyed touring Abe's places in history. Did you take pictures? Mrs. Snyder looks like a sweet lady. Happy that James can help her, bet she is too. See you later. Love you Gram

I see a bonnet - did someone have a wonderful history experience? That just does my heart good!

Steph, I noted the bonnet, too. And in pink even. We all need to go to Springfield someday and learn more about ourselves. Last week, one of Peyton's stories was about Sir Walter Raleigh. She was surprised that I knew his acts of chivalry. Hug the boys for me. Aunt Fran
