One of the songs from "Fireproof"

click here for a great video of this song using clips from the movie on youtube
Love is Not a Fight
'Love is not a fight' by Warren Barfield is another of the featured songs in Fireproof. It is a beautiful song that drives home the true meaning and commitment of real love:

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
And then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter
In a raging storm
Love is peace
In the middle of a war
And if we try to leave
May God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight
But it's something worth fighting for

To some love is a word
That they can fall into.
But when they're falling out
Keeping their word is hard to do

Love is a shelter
In a raging storm
Love is peace
In the middle of a war
And if we try to leave
May God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight
But it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Love is a shelter
In a raging storm
Love is peace
In the middle of a war
And if we try to leave
May God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight
But it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

Clearly I must see this movie (although I had no doubt of that after I saw a clip of it at the marriage conference back in May).
First let me say - go hug James!!! I know he and I don't get to talk much (and he is making that MUCH harder with all this crazy talk about "stuff" :)
But I am so encouraged to see him step up and do things like buy those books for other people. I have to say that watching he and Gary (both having the common bond of not having the best father figure) strive to be godly men/leaders/dad (and step dads) shows me that God IS the father to the "fatherless" and that ultimately God will lead and teach.
Again...gotta go see that movie!
